Community Service Officers Overview

The Community Service Officers (CSO) are assigned to student housing and athletic facilities. CSO's complete a field training program specific to the University of Nebraska Lincoln. CSO's are trained continually on how to better serve the campus community as first responders. CSO's are an important component in the security of the campus as they serve as additional eyes and ears to police officers.

CSO are stationed in residence halls and athletic facilities. They also patrol Greek living units and academic buildings. Students come into contact with CSO's while in the halls, computer labs or at sporting events.

Daily attire for the Community Service Officer is a uniform consisting of a gray shirt and black tousers.
