Safety Warning

A police investigation into a reported sexual assault at the Sigma Chi fraternity house led to a further investigation into procurement of alcohol for an off-campus fraternity party involving minors. While the investigation into the sexual assault did not result in criminal charges, the investigation did raise concerns about personal safety when individuals’ ability to make good decisions on behalf of their own safety and well-being is compromised due to heavy alcohol consumption.

Beware of Book Thieves

If you are approached by a stranger to sell back text books for them don't do it! It is likely that the books are stolen, making you guilty of facilitating a crime by helping a person sell stolen property. If someone contacts you to sell books to the University Bookstore or Nebraska Bookstore decline and call University Police at 402-472-2222. Try to have the person's description, where they are, or what direction they went when they left.
