University Police coordinates emergency management planning for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Departments throughout campus contribute to an emergency operations plan. This plan lists inventories, staffing requirements, procedures and policies used to provide guidance for immediate response and the ensuing recovery process in the event of an emergency.

The University has been involved in preparing guidelines for continuity of operations in the event of an emergency situation which requires response of longer duration.
